Alan Norsworthy is an experienced photographer with a career spanning too many years to count. In England he was a technical photographer using black and white film and working in a traditional darkroom. After coming to Canada in the early 70’s the vastness of this country caught his attention and a new path was laid. Since then his work has been mainly based on landscape photography but can and does include anything that catches his eye. Alan has won numerous awards for his work which can be found all across Canada, the US and Europe. After many years of traveling, Alan has settled in the Atlantic Provinces and made Parrsboro, Nova Scotia his home. He continues to seek out new images and finds inspiration as he walks the beaches that he loves. In recent years, although he still makes images in colour, the majority of his work is in Monochrome “because Monochrome gets to the root of the image." Alan can be contacted directly through his website or by emailing him at:

Past, Present And Future. A Retrospective And A Look Forward At The Art Of Alan Norsworthy

Alan Norsworthy - Photographer

Press Release

Alan has been involved with photography since his early teens. However life, children, mortgages and work pushed aside his passion for photography.
Now later in life he has the time to pursue his hobby.
Although his first love is using old film cameras he has embraced the digital age with modern equipment from Nikon.
His wet darkroom of long ago has been replaced with the new digital darkroom in the form of computer technology.
No matter, whether it is film, old cameras or the new digital cameras of today Alan uses the tools at hand to record what he sees as he travels the land that he loves, be it close to home or Up North, Down East or Out West
Your love for the land is evident in your images was a recent comment he received and he agrees it is the land in all its beauty and all its seasons that drives him forward.
In sharing what he sees, feels and loves he hopes to inspire...
